Happy Birthday Kimber!!
How lucky am i to get to spend yet another great weekend in Idaho this summer? We had ourselves a fun birthday weekend celebrating my big sisters 29th birthday! Her family along with my big brothers family drove up from California and we came up to meet them! My mom put together a fun party for her that weekend and a bunch of our aunts, cousins and even Grandma Brown came from Twin Falls to party! We swam and swam and swam, played minute to win it games and finished the night with a brown favorite, Smores!!!! My big sister is pretty much amazing and im so glad that we got to celebrate her birthday with her as a family. Kimberlee is pretty much one of the greatest influences in my life. She has a beautiful family and an amazing testimony of the gospel. Some of my favorite memories with my sister are when i spent two spring breaks with her and her family while i was in high school. I've learned a lot about what it means to be a good wife from her and pattern a lot of my personal goals in marriage and family after her great example. I hope it was a special weekend for her because it was for us! We are all looking forward to meeting up in Disney Land Later in September for a much needed family vacation!!!

These are a few of my favorite things.....
August has officially fulfilled all my favorite things of summer!!! To kick it off i spent the first week of August in the happiest place on Earth, IDAHO!!! My mom worked with me in getting a weeks worth of swimming lessons and private lessons lined up so i could earn some money for our upcoming Disneyland trip. It was an exhausting week full of swimming and lots and lots of glitter toes, glitter tattoos and feather extensions! I have so much fun getting to do these services for our swimming moms and kids! The glitter toes have been a huge success, i just wish i could find a clientele like this in Utah! Getting to teach is so much fun too! I was feeling pretty worn out by the end of the week. I totally forgot what hard work it is being in that pool with the hot sun on you for hours shouting instructions over and over, but i'll tell you i love to watch these kids improve by the end of the week. I can't believe i use to teach every morning then run off to my waterpark job till 10 at night! My summers use to be so full of work, work, work!!! I had so much fun getting to spend so much time with my parents. We enjoyed many many night outs at Cafe' Rio, Olive Garden and Pollo Ray!
The day after i came home from Idaho Andy and i packed off and headed off to Lake Powell to meet up with his family! His family are huge Lake Powell goers and it is the highlight of our summer! We stay on a house boat and spend tons of time skiing and wake boarding. My father in law has been hard at work trying to get me up on that ski and i've been getting better! I'm still terrified to go out of the wake but its a lot of fun! Andy is always so much fun to watch behind the boat! He does and awesome job skiing and wake boarding and he loves it so much!

Manti
We have been super excited for our friend Loren and Nikki to finally tie the knot this summer. Loren is an old mission friend of Andy's and we try to hook up with him and his sweet heart as often as we can. They celebrated the night before their sealing with a back yard reception and Andy was one of the Best Men. Another mission buddy and his wife came down from Rexburg for the wedding and it was so fun getting to catch up with them!
That next morning we got up early to make the drive down to the Manti Temple where the wedding would be. I have never been so i was super excited to get to see this majestic structure! The drive was beautiful and we enjoyed rolling through all the small towns on the way. When we rolled in the first thing we saw was the temple up on the hill and it was gorgeous! It's crazy that this temple resides in such an itty bitty city! We spent some time walking around it before it came time to get inside and get seated. The sealing was beautiful and was preformed by Loren's father who is a temple president in Orgen..... i don't remember what temple exactly:) it was a beautiful day and im so happy we were invited to take part in it. I wish we would of stuck around to do a session but it was well enough to get to walk through the halls and up the amazing spiral staircases of the temple that holds so much history of the early saints and their sacrifices to bring a bit of heaven closer to this earth.
We enjoyed our trip so much that next year we plan to attend the Manti Pageant which is held every summer! So until then here is our Manti Temple Picture.... i wish we would have taken more...

Summer Loving
So, if you haven't already caught on, i have a serious love affair with summer! It is my absolute favorite time of year where i really just become a different person. So i was super excited to hop on a plane two weeks ago to the happiest place on earth, Boise IDAHO!!!! Nothing says summer like swimming lessons in my mothers backyard and catching a yummy porch style lunch with my bestie Sidnee. It was a special week because my big sister and my sister in law along with all the kiddies drove up from California to visit and gosh we had so much fun! Because they had some car issues i was there a day or so working hard in my mothers backyard, teaching swimming and doing my Glitter Gel Toes and Feather Extensions. It was so fun getting to see some of the young swimmers i use to teach while in high school all grown up in level five's swimming like you wouldn't believe! Makes a teacher proud!
So finally my sisters made it Friday night and we played played played. We drove to Twin Falls on Saturday for my Aunt Connie's 60th birthday surprise! We met at the Shoshone Falls for brunch and got to catch up with my cousins and other aunts who i don't often get to see. I really enjoyed getting to be with family and surprising my Aunt! And the Fall are ROARING thins year! Seriously if you have never been make it a point to go!! It is just beautiful!

This is my dear Aunt Connie with her Aunt Donna. Aunt Donna was my Grandma Doddy's sister and has always been so special to me! I love these women!!

This is the family! My Aunts and cousins with their families!!!

Down at the Falls.... i wish you could see them better but trust me they are amazing this year!!!
I spent the rest of the week just enjoying my nieces and nephew. we did haircuts and glitter toes for all the girlies. I had a fun shopping trip with My Best Friend Sidnee and we enjoyed our Cheesecake factory lunch which is becoming a fast tradition. I was sad to leave my home but i have a new home with my loving husband in Utah! It was difficult being away from him but its hard feeling sorry for him while he was kicking it in California bidding his cousin farewell as she leaves for her mission! We are happy to start our own summer traditions and look forward to the warm weather ahead!

New Things Coming!!!
Oh things have been changing like mad around the Mair house! Im so so so happy to announce that i got a new job at a full service salon and am loving it! Things there are so much different and its been so fun getting back into the world of color and perm services and did i mention no kids:) Yvonne (my boss) has me hard at work printing up advertising and getting the word out that im here and im ready to do some hair! Among my spring and summer time specials are discounts on colors and perms, discounted mens cuts and GLITTER TOES!!! So come see me! My salon is called Yvonne's Doll House and no it is not a gentleman's club:)
After a lot of discussing and all that jazz Andy and i have decided to put the truck up for sale and buy something different. We have been out the last few weeks test driving and checking out some different options. Andy got me super super excited about a 2007 Mazda 3 that we found on KSL. The machine was beautiful! we took it for a test drive and i loved it so much, but im glad my husband is a detail kind of man, the bumper and some interior scratching just weren't up to par so..... so long bright red speeding machine you were so close yet so far away! Shopping for cars i've decided go on my stressful things to do list. But we really are in no hurry so long as these gas prices stop going up.
Andy has some exciting news! We received his acceptance letter to BYU this week!! After a lot of thought Andy has decided to pursue the construction management program the the Y offers. Its a great program and BYU is a great school. Now where does this put us for the next two years? We love our little apartment in Bountiful and im loving this new job. The thought of moving to Provo again almost gives me a heart attack, however i know that commuting is almost not an option. So we still have some things to figure out, but huge congratulations to Andy! Im very proud of him.
We spent Easter up in Idaho with my family so here are some pictures. We went up to help my big brother pack up his family, they moved to California and we will miss them so so much!

One year and counting...
Yikes i've been meaning to post about our year anniversary all month! Not like you really want to hear of any excuses but i will say my sweet husband gets priority over the computer seeing as he is finishing up one crazy semester of school! So I've found sometime this weekend to sneak on and share what a beautiful anniversary we had!
We got all dressed up on Saturday afternoon and attended an organ concert at the Temple Square Tabernacle. Andy is in a music appreciation class and we've been expanding our classical intellect all semester, with symphony's and operas. We had lunch at The Garden, the restaurant on top of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. Before we headed up we snuck a peek into the Empire Room where we had our beautiful reception one year earlier. ohhh nostalgia!!! We attended the Salt Lake Temple after to do some sealings. It was so much fun watching new brides and their families celebrate their special days. Everywhere around Temple Square there were photographers and flower girls and all kinds of wedding parties celebrating new couples coming out of the temple doors. So much fun to get to reflect on where we had celebrated one year ago.
For dinner we went to the Cheesecake Factory and stuffed our faces!!! So much delicious food and cheesecake! We bought Andy a watch at the buckle for a gift, and i must mention that he did surprise me with a tanning certificate! oh how i've been wanting a summer glow for soooo long! We checked into the Marriott in Salt Lake and were surprised with a delivery of chocolate covered strawberry's and sparkling cider!
It was such a special day! We enjoyed getting to slip back into the past and relive a little of our wedding day.
And so a first year of marriage recap!
-I got my first Job in a Salon; Cookie Cutters haircuts for kids
-We took a trip to Vegas to visit Andy's sister and her beautiful kids
-Andy got licensed to sell insurance for Farm Buraeau
-We bought a Ford F-150 Truck... Sold the Jetta
-Attended the Price Family Reunion in Heber
-Andy taught me how to Golf and play tennis,
-We spent a week in Lake Powell with Andy's family
-Andy serves in the Sunday school presidency and as an Elders Quorum Teacher
-I've been called as the Primary Chorister
-We spent Thanksgiving in sunny California at Knottsberry Farm

I am always learning from him! He is so encouraging and pushes me to do my best! My life changed forever when i met Andy and im so blessed to have had this amazing ride with him!
Here is a look back at our beautiful wedding!

Love Day!!!
Well it was quite the Valentines day. Andy and i spent it early because our weeks are always so busy with work and school. I work a very long day on Saturdays and usually come home very exhausted but i was greeted with a box of chocolates and a scavenger hunt where i discovered a Taylor Swift Calender (im obsessed with her) and the Movie Valentines Day. So cute right? We went to dinner at California Pizza Kitchen which was delicious and enjoyed a quiet night watching my new movie!
I was really looking forward to doing something special for Andy and so i decided since cooking meals is not among my favorite things to do i wanted to make him a big special dinner. And so i served a pot roast, broccoli salad rolls and veggies along with a special carrot cake which we have yet to cut into! Oh it turned out to be a disaster! I have never made a homemade carrot cake and i was exhausted shredding 4 cups of carrots for it!!! It kinda fell apart seeing as it was a three layered cake and i just do not have the special touch for things like that. All in all we very much enjoyed it and not only was it a special valentines day, it also turned into and early birthday for me. I love my husband i do but he suffers from a big of a patience disorder. He is a great gift giver, and even better loves to give!!! Buying presents for others is among his favorite things to do and so when my gift came in the mail he begged, pleaded and flashed melting smiles and batted those puppy dog eyes to get me to open this present on valentines day. As it so happens this gift also was from my generous in-laws and was in fact an early birthday present for Andy. We opened them to find Brand New I-Pones compatible with our Verizon Network. Sooooooooo EXCITED!!!! Andy and i have been saving and saving and when it finally came time to get them i chickened out and told him we should wait. Saving turns out to be kinda exhilarating and i really wanted to hold onto that money and keep adding to it. We are having a blast with our new phones, especially the face time feature with allows us to do video chat. So big thank you for a special birthday. Andy and my in-laws really made it special.
All in all things are so great here at the Mair household. This semester has been particularly difficult because Andy is taking 22 credits and working part-time while I've been putting in tons of hours at the salon. i usually am asleep be the time Andy gets home so we live for the weekends. We are looking forward to the summer, Andy will be graduated from the Business College and we will get to spend much more time together and it will finally be warm and sunny!

We attended the World Freestyle Championships in Park City Utah. We enjoyed watching the Arial competition where a familiar voice commentated, Jerret Speedy Peterson and former competitor and Olympic champion who is also from Boise. We had such a great time!
