Another Round of VEGAS!!!

We had ourselves quite the weekend in Las Vegas a week or two ago and it was nothing less than amazing!!  My sweet mother in-law made incredible arrangements for us all to get together as a family to celebrate Andy's dad's 60th birthday.  We got a super fun room just blocks away from the strip and it had an awesome pool that we played and played at all day.  I love getting to do Vegas with the veterans (the Birts)  because they know all the fun things to do.  The last visit we had in Vegas was packing them up and moving them to California about 1 1/2 years ago.  Needless to say it was the perfect weekend.  So a HUGE thank you to Debbie and Gale for making it happen and a special happy birthday to the best father in-law ever!!!

Just a thought…

So last week I had an appointment with our sweet cousin Tosh for a brow and lip wax.  She is fabulous and does great work!  When I walked in the first thing that popped out of her mouth was

“Lauren you are so skinny!  You look great!”

Of course my reply is….

“No No No, are you kidding I’m not skinny!”

Tosh was quick to correct me saying,

“Lauren when someone compliments you, you need to say thank you!”

Tosh hit it on the mark.   It made me stop and think how often I put down compliments in an effort to downplay what others might see in me.  Do you do that too?  Lesson taught and learned.  Others compliment to help you see the great in yourself.  So remember to be a lady and be polite.  Always say thank you when others compliment you!

Isn’t it just beautiful!  I’m making a fashion forecast and saying it’s out with the Tom’s and in with the Sperry’s this spring and summer.  I’ve been recently obsessed with this boat show!  In fact this morning Andy took off early to work and where I usually just roll over and fall back to sleep for a couple more hours, I instead opened my Nordstrom App and found some styles to add to my wish list!  I want to pair it with some preppy Bermuda shorts or with these boyfriend denim chinos from GAP .  In any case I love it and can’t wait to get my hands on them!

I’m feeling particularly motivated to take a minute and brag about this amazing man!

Andy is my best friend and greatest motivation.  Something I’ve admired about my husband is his great work ethic.  Andy balances both work and school while faithfully fulfilling his church callings as a ward missionary and an excellent home teacher.  His responsibilities in all these areas keep him super busy, calling for some early mornings and very late nights.  Andy is super smart and is diligent in spending hours of studying for tests and quizzes.  He even finds time in his day to help rotate the laundry and start dinner on nights I work late.  What a man! 

I look forward to watch him graduate and start his career.  He works hard to help secure a future for our family.  Andy teaches me each day through is example of hard work and selfless service.  He loves his family and tells me often how excited he is to become a father.  I know he will be the best dad as he is the greatest husband.  My life changed forever when I met Andy.  He brings out the best in me and continues to keep me in check.  His faith helps keep the spirit strong in our home.  I’m so proud of him and all his accomplishments.  He is the love of my life and I feel so blessed to call him mine! 

The Most Wonderful Time of The Year!

Ahhh, Halloween.... is there anything better? Just wanted to post pictures from some of the festivities the Mair family took part in. Considering Andy's super busy school and work schedule im very surprised at what fun we had with Halloween this month! A couple weeks ago we teamed up with our good friends the Woodly's and went to Frightmares at Lagoon. It was a blast, in fact we had so much fun we forgot to take any pictures! The park is themed for Halloween and we had ourselves a good time.

We got to attend our friends 2nd annual murder mystery dinner party earlier this month. I worked very hard on putting our costumes together. They are hand made teenage ninja turtle costumes. I hope someone will have taken pity on me after assembling them and perhaps feels the need to buy me a sewing machine. Andy went as Leonardo and i went as Donatello. Everyone at the party looked great and we had a blast!



Lastly i had the best night ever hanging out with my old roommates from Provo when i went to hair school. Im so glad these girls decided to get together after almost two years! We went the the dance production Thriller and it was amazing! Is it too embarrassing to admit i haven't had a real girls night out since i'd been married? Im so lame! But i hope this isn't the last!

The Happiest Place On Earth

Andy and i feel very fortunate that we were able to skip town back in September to the happiest place on earth! The Browne family has been planning for months and months for this Disneyland vacation and we had a blast!!! It is a huge blessing to be able to all get together for these vacations and were are very grateful to mom and dad for helping each family out, making it possible.

The first two days we spent in Disneyland, making sure we got to every ride, and getting to meet everyone's favorite characters. The kids had a blast! They were so fearless and took on just about every ride. I will say that Space Mountain made for some tearful scared kids, but Chase and McKenna didn't let that stop them. When we got off the ride they were bawling but within minutes they were ready to hit up the next ride! Reagan was so fascinated with all the characters. She gave Micky kisses and would hug and hug any other characters we came across. We spent our last day at California Adventure. Brooklyn's favorite ride was Soaring over California, and Andy loved Tower of Terror.

We played really hard and made lots of lasting memories. Big thank you to my parents!!! They are great examples of working hard so they can play hard! It all came and went so fast, but we are looking forward to getting together again over Christmas.

Happy Birthday Kimber!!

How lucky am i to get to spend yet another great weekend in Idaho this summer? We had ourselves a fun birthday weekend celebrating my big sisters 29th birthday! Her family along with my big brothers family drove up from California and we came up to meet them! My mom put together a fun party for her that weekend and a bunch of our aunts, cousins and even Grandma Brown came from Twin Falls to party! We swam and swam and swam, played minute to win it games and finished the night with a brown favorite, Smores!!!! My big sister is pretty much amazing and im so glad that we got to celebrate her birthday with her as a family. Kimberlee is pretty much one of the greatest influences in my life. She has a beautiful family and an amazing testimony of the gospel. Some of my favorite memories with my sister are when i spent two spring breaks with her and her family while i was in high school. I've learned a lot about what it means to be a good wife from her and pattern a lot of my personal goals in marriage and family after her great example. I hope it was a special weekend for her because it was for us! We are all looking forward to meeting up in Disney Land Later in September for a much needed family vacation!!!
